Arkansas’s first equal pay bill in years received a good hearing with a full House Public Health committee Tuesday morning. We cannot thank Representative Fred Love enough for his leadership on the bill. Thanks also to Dr. Sarah Beth Estes, Sociology professor at UALR who served as Rep. Love’s expert and who was absolutely phenomenal. Nell Matthews and Caroline Morgan testified, and we thank them immensely.

Sadly, HB1021 lost on a voice vote. We are talking with Rep. Love and other leaders about next steps.
